All taken using the Photobooth in my iPad. Isn't the kaleidoscope effect amazing?
This week marked the start of the Mid Year Examinations in my school. I really wasn't up to it at all, I really would've appreciated and could've used another week to prepare or something but I can't control time can I? But nonetheless, I thank God so much for being so merciful to me. Social Studies was up first and the only chapter that I actually memorised by heart came out for the essay question. I was over the moon! The source based questions were decent to so that was God's merciful act this week #1. Elementary Mathematics paper was tough, ngl, but I managed to do quite a fair bit of the paper though I was pretty livid that I couldn't do the geometry questions. Additional Mathematics was pretty decent (God's merciful act this week #2). Chemistry was decent too considering that I didn't study that much for it yet I could do the whole paper with the exception of a few rubbish answers. Mother Tongue was disastrous. The paper 2 at least. I couldn't understand the passages and my eyelids felt so heavy midway through the paper. During the last 15 minutes, I realised I had 5 more comprehension questions to be completed. Bad, bad paper. However, the worst had yet to come. On Thursday night, I was panicking because I haven't finished studying for History so I resorted to just reading through the textbook and I felt so uneasy because there is no way in hell I could just read through the textbook and memorise all the information given. Also, there was Physics after History and me, being a smartass, did not study it beforehand so I had to cram whatever I could. I swear I was having a mental breakdown ugh thank God for Nicole and the nice message she sent which was the first thing I saw the moment I woke up. It was very nice to start off such a bad day with a nice text, could use one everyday plz. History didn't turn out as bad as I thought it would though. The chapters I had read and re-read through all came out (God's merciful act this week #3) so I basically wasted 5 minutes deciding what to write when I could've used that 5 minutes to write something. Physics was decent, I guess? I had left some blanks because I realised I had missed out on some stuff, so yeah. So this paragraph turned out longer than I had intended it to be. +100 points to you if you have read till this point.
Mom brought me out for lunch to Mezza9 @ Hyatt Hotel after my papers on Friday (I always seem to be going there don't I? Who cares? I love that place forever.) Coincidentally, it was the last day of the 15th World Gourmet Summit so they had a special set lunch done by Kevin Thornton. He's an Irish chef and owns a 2 Michelin stars restaurant in Dublin, Ireland. Best food I have ever had in my entire life, I'm still lusting for it now. I chose an appetizer of foie gras with carrot puree and muscat grapes. There were some other things too, but I can't remember the exact name. Pity I forgot to snap a shot of the food. The presentation was so good. The pan fried foie gras was good too. I had a venison for a main which was so so so good this doesn't even justify it's goodness. My mom took the dessert of passionfruit brulee with mango sorbet and I had my rose ispahan. Best lunch 2k11, nothing can beat that, s2g. Baked cheesecake after that. It's not a normal cheesecake. It's those with a biscuit base, and jelly cheese and strawberries and strawberry jelly stacked atop it respectively. Considering it was a first time, it's a pretty decent attempt though it turned out less than ideally but it tastes nice so who cares? Headed to Everything With Fries at Holland Village for lunch today. I like the ambience and the atmosphere (do they mean the same thing?) and the fact that there was Maroon 5 blasting was |-) but the food was average. I'd probably go back just for the ambience.
Today also happens to be polling day and I thought I could've rushed out a post this afternoon on my thoughts and opinions on this general election but alas, I couldn't. I'm going to stay up to see the results of the election later on. I honestly hope to see that the People's Action Party to still be a majority in the government because a coalition government would just spell trouble. However, I do still was a significant number of opposition parties in the government too. Also, please kick Vivian Balakrishnan out of his high horse and may George Yeo still be a minister after tonight. That will be all for now.
Hugs and kisses xoxo
