Greetings from Aix-En-Provence, France.I've managed to find internet connection but the French keyboard is irritating me to no end. All the keys are in all the wrong places! The first few days of travelling has been considerably arduous, with the long drives, lack of carpark, crammed roads and complete French douchebags. But, thankfully, things got better yesterday as we got to explore Provence a little. It's a beautiful town and the H&M here still has tons of Versace X H&M in stock, which got me all excited. However, they didn't have the bustier I wanted in my size. Current mission: find bustier in my size. I hate how unfriendly most of the French people are (well, mostly the old wrinkly people, but still in general) and they have terrible driving etiquette (although I do have to admit they are pretty damn good drivers, manuvering around little lanes, parking into tiny spaces and what not). I thought the Italians were reckless enough, turns out the French are worse! I think I've come to the conclusion that I much prefer Italians.
Italian boyfriend wanted. Just kidding. Or am I? I'm setting off to Saint-Tropez now (home of the rich and famous aka great hunting ground for a husband) and I will try to update this post as much as possible, kind of like a live feed. Au revoir.
P/S Try saying "Unique, New York" five times, really quickly!
Greetings from Les Bouches, France aka the Mont Blanc mountainsI went snowboarding today and it was absolutely wickedly sick shit!!!!! I love it. It's way easier than skiing and you look way cooler as well. Not the case for me. I just kept falling over in between runs, resulting in major battle bruises on my kneecaps and ass, but it was well worth it. My coach was pretty handsome and he spoke English with such a nice French accent. I kept talking to him, just to hear him speak. That was not meant to be as creepy as it sounded. It's such a pity I forgot to snap a shot and I have no shots of me actually snowboarding. Before arriving here, I was in Nice. It was absolutely beautiful. My kind of place, with blue seas and pristine beaches. It's winter now, and there were still old people tanning topless. The people here are strong. I also visited Monaco, home of the rich and famous. There were beautiful casinos there and many beautiful cars. I saw a really cute Chevrolet Corvette! My Christmas in Nice was pretty mundane. I just had wine and panetone (?). I also visited a little quaint little village, Eze, which is between Monaco and Nice. It's such a pretty place but by the time we got there, all the shops were closed so we just watched the sunset in a cafe.
P/S Merry Christmas and Happy Boxing Day! (Sorry it's belated)
Greetings from Lausanne, SwitzerlandI've split off from the two families I was travelling with before. They headed off to Paris while I'm making a detour to Switzerland before hitting Paris. It was pretty nice having them around, especially Michele and Joanne. It felt like they were the bigger sisters I never had. I don't know why I feel particularly lonely this trip. Maybe because everyone seems to have a sibling and I'm just, alone. Like when we went skiing/snowboarding, everyone had their sibling to accompany them to do whatever they wanted and I just had to snowboard alone. 16 years alone, and I still haven't found a way around loneliness. Enough of the sad stuff. Switzerland is a wonderful place but the Swiss keyboard is absolutely pissing me off, just as I got used to the French keyboard. The people here are so nice and helpful, the place is so clean and orderly, it's an absolute world away from France. I'm starting to really lose my love for France. Buck up you French pricks! It was snowing lightly this morning as I left the French alps. It was gorgeous and it was my very first time seeing fresh snow! I forgot to mention before that we actually unintentionally passed through Italy on the way to the French alps. It was ridiculous how thrilled I was just to be on Italian soil. I stopped by Geneva to visit the Patek Philippe museum, only to find that it was closed for the Christmas holidays. I was looking forward to it so much! But anyway, I ended up spending the day wandering the streets of Lausanne, which is beautiful and I visited the Swiss lakes. the guys here in Switzerland are surprisingly good-looking though, and really nicely built. Yes, guys are the first things I notice when I'm in Europe. It's ridiculously pricey here in Switzerland though. A Macdonald's meal costs CHF11.90 which is about SGD15! That can buy me two Macdonald meals in Singapore. I'll be heading to Bern and Interlaken tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll find a Sprungley shop and get my fill of chocolates and macarons. Oh, amazingly I haven't started shopping at all. I'll leave this at here.
P/S I know I keep switching from I to we, but I can't decide on which to use!
Greetings from Singapore, SingaporeI'm back in Singapore and I feel like cow dung already. I miss Paris so much. I haven't got the time to update whilst I was there because there was so much to do and I had so little time! I'll probably give a more thorough update soon, but this marks the end of my holiday in France, in 2011/2012.
